The Architecture of the Image
I offer a 45–60 minute lunchtime CPD for architecture practices, focusing on how photography can support the way projects are communicated, understood and remembered.
The session is informal and visual, built around my perspective as an architect–photographer and the specific challenges of documenting contemporary and adaptive reuse work.

What the CPD covers:
- A short introduction to the evolution of architectural photography and how images shape the profession today
- How practices can prepare for a shoot and work collaboratively with a photographer
- Behind-the-scenes insights into my process: multiple exposures, editing, selections, and the craft behind a single finished image
- Practical considerations: access, people in the shots, permissions, drone work, and scheduling around light
- Examples from recent projects, including adaptive reuse projects documentation
- How photography supports competitions, awards, publications and the wider identity of a practice
Format
40–45 minute presentation + Q&A
Delivered in person at your office (London) or online
Suitable for all teams: design, comms, marketing, and project leaders
Why this CPD may be useful
Architectural photography is often the first, and sometimes only, way clients, juries and the public encounter a project.
This session looks at how architects can get the most out of photography, and how images can extend the narrative and lifespan of built work.
